Then, we drove to the Kolob Canyons portion of Zion National Park and did some short hikes and checked out the overlooks. This was probably our favorite Utah park, if you can pick a favorite of such other-worldly things. There is just so much diversity in the landscape and wildlife.
At the end of the day, we drove over to Zion Ponderosa Ranch, where we stayed in a cute little wagon! It fit our needs for such a chilly night. This was just a great place to stay. We got to drive through the less popular east portion of the park, including a mile long tunnel through the canyon. The Ranch itself was also very cool - made us wish we were there for more than one night! Their complimentary breakfast was off the chain.
How we spend most of our day |
Kolob Canyons |
Apparently the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is visible somewhere out there |
Pretending I see it |
Can you spot it? |
Big-horn sheep! And Amy's glasses! |
Arriving to our accommodation |
Our wagon! |
Yes, all that crap for one night |
Someone's fire and the moon. And mars, maybe? |
That wagon is so cool. Amy is a true frontier-woman.
