Eightmile Lake is part of the Enchantments (sort of), which is an alpine region located in the mountains adjacent to Leavenworth.
This was a day to remember (not unlike every other day of this trip). We went from 70 degree weather to a 19 degree overnight low, so we had to be packed and prepared for everything. The rain spit in and out, which was nothing crazy, but it definitely gave us some scares!
The weather at Eightmile Lake was particularly concerning. The wind was wild, and the rain was getting heavier as soon as we arrived around 5 PM. We parked and set up camp very quickly, but we had to move about an hour later because the wind got much worse. We couldn't stay on the lake and ventured into the woods.
Overall, this wasn't a long hike, but it was stressful and painful and certainly rewarding.
