Today, we went to the hottest place on earth, Death Valley National Park, home of Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America. To say it was hot would be an understatement. We stayed in the Rav as much as possible while exploring this park. We did do one short hike up to Zabriskie Point. It was difficult, but rewarding! We took a scenic trip through Artists Drive, where rock formations form a geological rainbow. It was beautiful! Before we left the park, we ventured over to Badwater Basin to experience the salt flats at 282 feet below sea level. The heat was oppressing, so it was a short and sweet trip to the salt flat. Despite the heat, I think I would return to Death Valley, obviously during a different time of year, but to explore the rest of what this park has to offer. From here, we hit the road to our next destination, Las Vegas. We spent the night at Sam's Town Hotel and Casino, home to the Killers, Greg's favorite band.
