Day 25 - Pittsburgh to Hershey, PA

Today was a chill day! We wanted to make sure we had a whole day in Hershey Park, so we didn't do much today besides drive there.

We found a couple fun stops along the way, though, including a giant coffee pot and a flea market!

Okay, muscles!!

Day 24 - Pittsburgh

Hyatt Place Pittsburgh Airport / Robinson

  • Hours - 3.5
  • Food options - 4
  • Food quality - 3
  • Coffee quality - 2.5
  • Ambiance - 3
  • Highlights - Reese Puffs

Pittsburgh, again? The truth is, we were originally going to take an entirely different route home, mostly involving driving through more of Canada. The plan had been to visit more places we have never been to before. However, we found out one of our favorite bands, Middle Kids, was playing a show in Pittsburgh on this very day. So we ended up changing a few things to get here in time!

And we were both very glad we did. Middle Kids headlined the WYEP Summer Music Festival at Schenley Plaza, and we went for the last three acts. Jade Bird and Oh He Dead were also great, but Middle Kids rocked our socks off!

Day 23 - Madison to Pittsburgh

Last night, we stayed in Madison, Wisconsin, at the same Hyatt as earlier in the month. However, we decided to skip their breakfast this time and instead go to IHOP. We unfortunately forgot to take pictures of our pancakes!

Today was really just a driving day - over nine long hours of driving from Madison to Pittsburgh. But it was all good! We had a nice time listening to Pretty Little Liars

Day 22 - Duluth, MN

Days Inn Duluth

  • Hours - 4
  • Food options - 4.5
  • Food quality - 3.5
  • Coffee quality - 4
  • Ambiance - 3
  • Highlights - Lots to grab and go

Duluth is a lovely port city on Lake Superior in Minnesota. After checking out of our hotel, we secured some iced lattes and strolled a portion of Canal Park's Lakewalk. The views were calming. The weather was pleasant. There were only a few cliques of people around. It was a perfect way to spend the morning.

One of the coolest things about Canal Park is the Aerial Lift Bridge. Unlike a bridge that opens for ships to pass through, this bridge lifts like an elevator. It was fascinating to see it in action.

Minnesota, really?!

  • Food options - 3.5
  • Food quality - 3
  • Coffee quality - 3.5
  • Ambiance - 4.5
  • Highlights - Raisin Bran sans raisins

We didn't do a ton in Winnipeg because we had to keep making our way to the states. It seems like a really nice city though. We did take time in the morning to explore the Forks Market, which is a popular downtown destination. It was neat! After that, we drove across the border and to Lake Superior!

Day 20 - Swiftcurrent to Winnipeg

Motel 6 Swiftcurrent

  • Hours - 5
  • Food options - 2
  • Food quality - 4
  • Coffee quality - 3.5
  • Ambiance - 2
  • Highlights - Chocolate chip muffin did not taste like banana

We stayed in Swiftcurrent last night after driving from Calgary. We got there late last night and really just slept. We almost went back to Glacier National Park because Going-to-the-Sun Road is open now! But that would've been irresponsible.

This morning, we got right back into the Rav and made our way to Winnipeg. We made a couple fun stops along the way, pictured below:
