It took until Day 6 to get to our first National Park! We are more or less racing our way out to Canada, so there has been a lot of driving. But it was nice to finally camp! That’s right, while we enjoyed our breakfast at the Hyatt in the morning, we finally did not stay at a Hyatt at night. We camped at Cottonwood Campground, a staple in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Also, this year, our camping has been upgraded! We built a camper for our vehicle with SOME help from a friend.

Our drive was nice, flat, and relatively empty. Before hitting the road, we stopped at a CRUMBL Cookies. Since the Twins had 6 hits while we were there, we could each redeem one free chocolate chip cookie. Score!

Then we went to the grocery store to pick up some lunch and dinner. It was nice to take a break from eating greasy food! We had a long drive, and we made it to our campground by 9 pm. But not before seeing the World's Largest Buffalo! And, at the campground, we had a run in with an actual bison. It was only a few yards away from our site. Super spooky in the pitch black.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is awesome! We didn't know what to expect since this park is not as talked about as others. But we drove around the South Unit a bit and can't wait to explore more tomorrow.
