Today, we drove the main attraction of Glacier National Park: Going-to-the-Sun Road. As the name might imply, this is a long and winding road that straddles the mountain side. It connects East Glacier to West Glacier with picturesque stops along the way. The only problem was due to the time of year, the middle section of this road was closed. This is where the road reaches its highest elevation, and much of it hasn't been plowed yet.
So, we did what anyone would do and drove in and out of the east side, drove all the way around the park, and then drove in and out of the west side. It was not so bad, because the added drive time added some views we wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
We did some hikes along the way and spent some time relaxing at picnic sites to take in as much as we could. We ended day at our Fish Creek campsite in West Glacier.
